Abstract

In this portfolio the author presents a span of work published over nearly fifteen years, describing her work as a child and adolescent psychotherapist and the
contribution this has made to thinking both within and beyond her profession. After addressing questions which concern the epistemological framework and methodology
of psychoanalysis, within which she works, she discusses under three main headings the areas of interest which have been her research focus: triangularity, creativity, and
links with other disciplines. She emphasises that the evolution of thinking is an ongoing process, from the initial growth of the individual through his engagement in
first relationships, on to his wider connections in the world and what he (and we all) make of it, from first affective exchanges to their later elaboration.
