Abstract

An extract from The Cambridge Dictionary of Sociology which outlines the key members, beginnings and purpose of the Situationist movement an international political and artistic movement of the 1950s and 1960s. Situationists strove for the ‘supersession of art’ and wanted to generate artistic creativity which would not be routinised.
