Description

Stranded, for 192 loudspeakers and three dancers, by Jalianne Li and Tommaso Perego

Supported by Mondriaan Foundation, The Game of Life Foundation, and the Unit of Sound Practice Research at Goldsmiths University of London, Stranded is a work for Dance and Sonic Movement.

Within a 12x12m space surrounded by 192 speakers controlled by a Wave Field Synthesis (WFS) technology, sound is moved and placed around the diffusion area: in the work dance is proposed as a visual and physical counterpart to sound and its movement in a joint choreography. Dancers and audience are placed within the sound projection space to experience a work of unusual visual and auditory perspectives.
