Abstract | The destructive war in Ukraine has had a grave impact on the safety and well-being of children and young people. Many have been displaced and forced to flee from their homes and everything they once knew. Many have become orphans. Exposure to violence, trauma and death can leave a devastating footprint on the mental health of children. Hence, international agencies, actors, NGOs, and governments have mobilized to provide support to the Ukrainian children in need both inside and outside the country’s borders. This policy brief provides an overview of the current situation, response and highlights key recommendations for the provision of mental health and psychosocial support to affected children. |
