Abstract | This paper draws upon research conducted in 2000-2001 among refugees from former Yugoslavia in Italy and the Netherlands. It compares The Dutch model of reception and integration of refugees which is based on a number of state interventions intended to meet the immediate needs of refugees and to facilitate their gradual integration into Dutch society and compares this with the Italian model. |
