Abstract

This ethnographic inquiry draws upon empirical work to
explore the experience of trauma among the “black” British African and Caribbean diaspora. Using a combination of Critical Race Theory and psychoanalytical concepts of transgenerational trauma, this study examines the role of British institutions of higher education in perpetuating racial trauma by virtue of “white” supremacy and privilege, hindering the academic and emotional growth of “black” students within its walls.
