Abstract

“Museums have a long track record of working with their communities, but often from a top-down position of power. The first step towards a more equal relationship is for museums to acknowledge this imbalance and to have open and honest conversations about how communities might want to work with museums. We hopethat museums and their community partners can use this toolkit to develop and sustain more equal and mutually beneficial relationships.”
